A CASE of Rainbows...

This card was going a WHOLE different direction when I started it - but I kinda like where it ended up anyway!  LOVE this card from the CASE Study this week so I borrowed the stripes and the colour combo to create my card, using this gorgeous stamp from Inkadinkadoo.  Thanks for stopping by :)

Play Hard, Have Fun...

Had fun creating this little robot for this weeks Cards for Men Challenge Boys and Their Toys.  Stamped the various body part images onto Fancy Pants Rough & Tough papers using Stampendous Spot's Botz.  Based the card layout on this great sketch from Deconstructing Jen - just rotated the sketch clockwise to fit the robot image.

Hope you have a great weekend playing hard and having fun! :)

Have Ewe Herd the News...

Happy Australia Day!!!

I must admit this black & white theme at CAS-ual Fridays had me challenged!  Then I started thinking, what else is black & white (besides penguins!) and I thought of newspapers and sheep.

I used October Afternoon sheep (ewe) stamp over a Prima newspaper stamp, and hand cut the sheep then pop-dotted the herd for added dimension.  The original October Afternoon sentiment stamp reads "Have you herd the news" but I couldn't resist masking the "you" and changing it to "ewe".  It just appeals to my sense of humour LOL!

And it's perfect for Australia Day too :)

Wishing you the Sweetest Things...

Even though purple is definitely not up there with my favourite colours, when I saw this months inspiration photo from Scrapbook Boutique, I knew it was perfect for my MFT "Wishing you the Sweetest Things" sentiment.  I loved the lattice icing, repeated in the papers from Kaisercraft and Penny Black, and the cute icing roses replicated using Prima flowers.  Cardstock is textured cordinations, finished off with a cute butterfly hand cut from Kaisercraft papers.  Perfectly suited to this months gorgeous inspiration sketch from SFYTT at I (heart) to Stamp.

Many thanks for dropping by - and Happy Chinese New Year to you too!

A Little Hummingbirdy Told Me...

Just LOVE the colours in Kaisercrafts Hummingbird Collectables - couldn't resist a play with the pink and yellow die cuts for this weeks CR84FN Colour Challenge.  Most of the die-cuts were used straight from the pack. I reduced the size of the sentiment by using my circle punch, and converted the double tab die cut into a circle using a smaller circle punch. Embossed the background using Couture Creations Swiss Dots folder and pop dotted the bird and branch, and the white swiss dot background.  I love an easy card - especially one as cute as this LOL!

Of Friends and Snowflakes...

I LOVE that Challenges make you think outside the square - or in this case, inside the square LOL!  I have teamed up this gorgeous colour palette from Colour Throwdown Challenge with this divine sketch from  Sketch Saturday.

I couldn't resist bringing this little Inkadinkado snowman out one more time!  This time I teamed him up with a sentiment from My Favourite Things Flopsy Snowflake.  The background is dry embossed using the Cuttlebug Snowflakes folder, and the white swiss dots hand cut following the Buzz and Bloom wonky scallop border - I love how it looks like snow piled up on the roof :)
I have used Spellbinders Floral Doily Motive behind the snowman.  I had fun testing out my new Christmas present - a circle cutter from Fiskars - makes cutting circles a breeze!

Many thanks for stopping by - much appreciated :)

Thanks Snow Much...

Had fun playing along with the Creative Card Crew Snow Day Challenge, inspired by the snowflakes and colours from the Ribbon Carousel Challenge and this gorgeous sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

Even though we don't get snow in this part of the world - I couldn't resist this gorgeous snowman from Inkadinkado.  He is stamped with Timber Brown StazOn onto teal Basic Grey paper, coloured in and his hat and scarf are pop dotted on for depth.  The clear snow flake is from Heidi Swapp, and the teal ribbon was just calling to me from my stash!   Background is dry embossed with Cuttlebugs Snowflakes folder then rubbed over the top with Versamark seafoam ink, and heat embossed all over using Dazzle ink and clear embossing powder. Cardstock base is Espresso Bazill.

Thanks SNOW much for stopping by :)

Constructing cards...

Some cards origins are more obvious than others!  Believe it or not, this card was inspired by this weeks sketch at Deconstructing Jen - the sketch was rotated 90 degrees clockwise, and in the process the stars became embossed in the blue background.  Anyway, I LOVE this colour combo by CR84FN and couldn't resist playing along.  Sentiment was stamped and embossed with seafoam white - a favourite as it really pops on strong colour backgrounds.

"Count Your Rainbows...

... not your thunderstorms", the perfect sentiment for this card and wise words from a 12 year old!

I could not go past using a rainbow for this weeks gorgeous sketch from Skipping Stones Design. Rainbow is made from strips of cardstock, adhered to white cardstock then pop dotted to create a bit of depth, I stamped each of the rainbow letters by inking them using Steadler thin markers.

I love that when I took the photo you can just make out the reflection of the rainbow colours on the floor - and choosing to ignore the bit of dust LOL!

Hope your year is full of rainbows :)

Cafe Mojo...

Loved this great colour combo from The Playdate Cafe this week, juniper, mint and vanilla - makes me hungry just thinking about it!  Mojo Monday has been flooded with inspiration this week too - not surprising with this gorgeous sketch. Tried out my stamp with Teal StazOn ink, and had a play with lace and bling and textured with patterns and layering instead of embossing - tempting me back to scrapping ;)

Good friends moving interstate today, and as I keep telling DS, our friends will always remain in our hearts :)

PS.  Woo hoo, just found out I received a "Cream in our Coffee" for this weeks challenge :)

Freshly Made...with Chipboard

Now Christmas has passed it seems Valentines day is the next best celebration!  This card combines a very versatile sketch from Freshly Made with CAS-ual Fridays Chipboard Challenge (I used Cosmo Cricket Blackboard flower frame and chipboard silver alpha) and this sophisticated colour combo from the Colour Throwdown Challenge.  I have cut the heart shape to reveal the red behind it, and added an extra hint of red with Kaisercraft pearls in the centre of the flowers.

Hope you are enjoying a relaxing weekend too :)

New Year, New Start...

Wishing all of you the very best of health and happiness for this New Year.  I am very glad to have 2011 behind me and am looking forward to the challenges of the year ahead!

I didn't get a chance to load this little guy up yesterday, so here is to a bright start to this New Year, with colour inspiration from Scrapbook Boutique, and sketch inspiration from Skipping Stones Design :)
